| The Value of You (Your Brand) They say that “your brand” is another person’s perception of what it’s like to do business with you, work with you, or be with you. Nothing is more important, because it’s what defines you from everyone else. Your top priority should be to build, protect and represent your brand to the best of your ability. In every interaction you have with others: keep your promises and create positive meaningful experiences. This is especially true in relationships with your employees – your most important asset. In today’s world of business your family of employees are truly the life-blood of your business. Give them structure, knowledge to do their work (training), freedom and opportunity to do their best and hold them accountable. Be a supervisor who truly cares, give recognition for jobs well done, provide opportunities to learn, grow and last but not least, to share financially. The brand we build with our employees will be a catalyst for the brand employees will build with our customers. All to often we fall short in our business relationships with our customers and suppliers. It’s not easy to be everything to everybody. However, if we start by building a meaningful relationship, “brand” with our employees we will have taken a major step in favorably branding ourselves with our customers and suppliers - that’s “Dollars & Sense”. What’s your brand?? The Value of Quality & Integrity It is said that the Law of Attraction is not new. It has been discussed for years, sometimes under different names and descriptions, but the concept hasn’t changed for centuries. The Law of Attraction in business works like this: when you peel back the layers of any business you get to the core. At the core are certain beliefs and values that reflect decisions made at the very highest level of each business. Beginning with the owner/CEO, values are made clear by that person’s actions; what they say, how they speak of their employees, customers, family, competition, etc. The Law of Attraction states that the beliefs and values at the core, those at the very highest levels, will attract and retain employees with like beliefs and values. Look around and you will see this every day. Employees with similar beliefs and values will be attracted, while others who don’t have the same values and beliefs will be uncomfortable and leave. The Law of Attraction, over time, will affect your business in two other ways as well; first you will attract customers with similar values and second you will attract suppliers/providers who want to do business with you - that’s “Dollars & Sense”. What kind of company do you want to be?? Who do you want to do business with?? What kind of customer do you want to attract?? What is your core??? |
